My name is Meaghan Monaghan and this blog is part of an assignment for my Internet Literature class for the spring 2009 semester. I am a sophomore at the University of Florida and am majoring in English and slowly working my way towards a business administration minor. For this class, we have had to read Italo Calvino’s Six Memos for the Next Millennium and Electronic Literature: New Horizons for the Literary by N. Katherine Hayles.
In this project, we are exploring the genre of electronic literature and how it is expanding and developing and cchanging traditional methods of reading and interacting with literature. As you explore, you will find the Memos page, the Aesthetic page, and the posts page. The memos page will describe the project and Calvino’s work in more detail so that you may better understand what is being done in the subsequent posts. The Aesthetics page will tell about my own personal aesthetic that I have discovered and cultivated while working on this project. Finally, the posts pages contains my posts on each quality presented by Calvino. In order to navigate them more easily, I suggest starting at the Categories toolbar at the side and choosing one of the categories : Lightness, Quickness, Exactitude, Visibility, or Multiplicity.
